Q: What time does the parade start?
A: The parade steps off promptly at Noon.
Q: What time do I have to get to the parade lot if I am marching in the parade?
A: In general all groups must be completely ready to go, regardless of their place in the parade, as of 11:30 a.m. Keep in mind that TRAFFIC BECOMES EXTREMELY HEAW AND DETOURS ARE COMMON prior to the parade. Plan on ARRIVING IN THE LOT by the following times:
- Floats 9:00 a.m.
- Vehicles in the line of march 10:00 a.m.
- Marchers 10:30 a.m., but NO LATER than 11:30 a.m.
Plan on arriving earlier rather than later. No one is allowed to join the parade in-progress.
Q: Can I park in the Parade Lot?
A: No…the Parade Lot is reserved for marchers and parade vehicles.
Q: Where can I park?
A: There is metered, on-the-street parking on some side streets. There are municipal parking lots throughout town. There is plenty of free parking at the end of the parade route in the rear parking lot of Morristown High School (Atno Avenue).
Q: Can I pull into the Parade Lot to drop off my child who is marching?
A: Drop off will be on Franklin Place.
Q: How long is the parade route? How long does the parade take?
A: The parade route is a little more than a mile long. From beginning to end the parade lasts about two hours.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: Bring an umbrella and raincoat. The parade still steps off at Noon.
Q: What if it snows?
A: That may be a different story. The Parade Committee is guided by what the Morristown police say. Tune to WMTR-1250 AM, WDHA-105.5 FM and the parade website if there is snow.
Q: What do I do if I have a question on parade day?
A: Ask ii. There are plenty of Parade Coordinators, Parade Marshals and police officers in the Parade Lot and along the parade route who are available to assist you.
