Who are they? A diverse group of caring adults trained specifically in working with youth to provide quality outreach programs to the youth of Morris County.

What do they do? Following the 4-H Volunteer Appointment and Orientation, these volunteers lead by example, utilizing their sincere interest in teaching and sharing knowledge and skills with youth and other adults in an educational setting.

Where do they work? These trained volunteers coordinate and conduct educational or service activities for clubs, club members, Rutgers NJAES Cooperative Extension and other 4-H program areas at the RCE 4-H Center in Morris Township and through special field trips.

What types of service? Volunteer service opportunities are available in such areas as the 4-H Association, Expansion and Review Committee, Youth Club Leaders and Assistant Leaders, 4-H Fair, Judges, Special Interest Projects, and many others.

As a 4-H volunteer, you will develop leadership skills and expand your knowledge, gain satisfaction by sharing your knowledge with youth and watching them grow, become an active member of the community, and have many opportunities to meet and share ideas with other adults working to make a positive difference in the lives of youth. Somerset County 4-H faculty and staff provide training and guidance for all volunteers working with youth.
