4-H Youth Development

The 4-H Youth Development Program uses a learn-by-doing approach to enable youth to develop the knowledge, attitudes, and skills they need to become competent, caring, and contributing citizens of the world. This is accomplished by using the knowledge and resources of caring adults:

To provide informal, educational programs for youth in grades 1-13 (one year out of high school)
To improve community partnerships and collaborations
To strengthen skills for adults working with youth through publications and training
To encourage responsibility, community awareness, and character development in youth

Upcoming Events:

National 4-H Week:

National 4-H Week is from October 4-10. Here are some things you can do:

1. Take pictures wearing your 4-H clothing out and about during that week and send them to the 4-H office. We'll put them together into a slideshow for the website to show everyone that 4-H is everywhere!

2. Work with your club to create a Window Display. Registration forms will be online soon.

3. Tell your friends about 4-H! Invite them to one of your 4-H meetings.

Achievement Night

The 2009 Achievement Night will be held Friday, November 20 at 7:00pm. For information about awards and forms, please click here. **TEENS be sure to check out the section for teen Awards. Application for "I Dare You" and 4-Her of the Year are online too! All forms are due October 15.
